Clayton Smith

Clayton Smith, AC Senior Consultant, has over 20 years of broad experience in enrollment management, policy analysis and public administration. He currently serves as Vice-Provost, Students and Registrar at the University of Windsor, where he is chief student affairs and enrollment management officer, and Secretary of the Faculty Senate. He served previously as Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management at the State University of New York College of Agriculture and Technology in Cobleskill, New York. He also has worked in enrollment services at Tallahassee Community College in Florida.

Dr. Smith’s enrollment management experience includes admissions, advisement, student affairs, marketing, orientation, records, registration, scholarships and awards, international students, recruitment and retention at a variety of public higher educational institutions—large and small, residential and commuter, rural and urban, 2-year and 4-year. He has successfully led institutions through the development and implementation of strategic enrollment management plans, and participated in the development of institutional and inter-institutional strategic plans.

Dr. Smith is active professionally in a range of organizations, including the Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers, Association of Registrars of the Universities and Colleges of Canada, the National Association of College Admission Counseling, the National Association of Foreign Student Advisors, and the Ontario University Registrars’ Association. He is currently a member of the editorial board for the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers’ journal College and University.
