Wayne Sigler

Wayne Sigler, Director of Admissions at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, has 30 years experience in enrollment management with particular expertise in transformational leadership and management, strategic planning, recruitment, marketing, and customer service. During his fifteen years at Minnesota, Dr. Sigler’s leadership has resulted in a 62% increase in new freshman enrollment, including significant increases in the academic preparation and diversity of the freshman class. From 1994 to 2007, new freshman applications have increased by 146%. His leadership has also led to strong enrollment success and major improvements in service to transfer students.

Dr. Sigler recently completed a two-year term as President of the Association of Chief Admissions Officers of Public Universities (ACAOPU), and he is the 2007 recipient of the AACRAO APEX Award which recognizes excellence in education administration and outstanding achievement and influence in the profession. Dr. Sigler is also the author of Managing for Change: Shifting from Process-Centric to a Results-Oriented Operations published in July 2007 by AACRAO.

Dr. Sigler previously served at the University of Houston, Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University-San Marcos, the University of Maryland, College Park and Towson State College (now Towson University). He earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science at Towson State College, a Master of Arts in Education (College Student Personnel Work) and an Ed.D. in Higher Education from The George Washington University (Washington, D.C.)
