Susan Gottheil

Gottheil photo 2013 gimpSusan Gottheil expands AACRAO’s consulting expertise with over 30 years of experience in the Canadian post-secondary sector. Following a nine year teaching tenure at Vanier College in Quebec, Susan developed her leadership skills in administrative positions at Carleton University in Ottawa. There she served as the Equity Coordinator, Assistant Vice President for Student & Academic Services, and Associate Vice President for Enrolment Management. Susan moved to Alberta where she played a key role in helping Mount Royal University make the transition from a college to university and roll out new undergraduate degree programs. In her current role as Vice-Provost (Students) at the University of Manitoba Susan works with administrative and academic colleagues across campus to enhance the undergraduate and graduate student experience and leads the SEM planning process.

Susan’s expertise extends across institutional strategic planning, business process and policy reviews, integrated marketing and communications, and employment and educational equity. Her collaborative work with cross-departmental staff and faculty has lead to dramatic improvements in enrollment and retention, as well as student services, support and success. A published author, presenter and event organizer, Susan remains on the forefront of the emerging enrolment management movement in Canada. In 2011 Susan co-edited SEM in Canada: Promoting Student and Institutional Success in Canadian Colleges and Universities.
